Five Places to Play Outdoor Games in Philly This Summer

Who says kids get to have all the fun? There's plenty of grown-up good times to be had (adult beverages included, of course) all over the city this summer. So, when you're feeling playful and the weather's nice -- here's where and what you'll be playing with your posse all summer long:

1. Martha

Not only does this Kensington hot spot have an excellent food and drink menu, but you can also get your bocce on at Martha this summer in their outdoor courtyard! Don't know how to play bocce ball? Me either! But with a snack-able menu, a local beer & wine list, and a courtyard space that's to die for -- even watching is fun.

2. The Yard at South Bowl

Consider this your ultimate backyard destination this summer. Yeah, bowling's cool and all -- but "the yard" is really where it's at. You won't run out of things to do at this brand new addition in South Philly -- it's home to Batting Cages, Bocce Courts, Shuffleboard, Horseshoes, Billiards, an outdoor arcade and lounge, swings, a bar and more!

3. The Oval

It's the ultimate eight-acre summer pop up park on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. They haven't announced their opening day yet, but word on the street is this ginormous pop up park will be back and better than ever Summer 2019. Enjoy mini golf, a giant chess board, corn hole -- you name it, all while surrounded by local food trucks and a beautiful beer garden under a canopy of trees. Yes, please!

4. Sto's Bar/Old City Beer Garden

This dive bar in old city has some crazy good daily specials along with a crazy good beer garden attached. Not only is the outdoor space amazing, but so is the vibe. Fun and laid back, come here to indulge in corn hole and giant beer pong, all while enjoying excellent brews under the sun.

5. Top Golf

Okay, not technically in the city -- but close enough. The beauty of Philly is that there's three super convenient bridges to choose from to get you from here to Jersey in a flash! This popular chain finally set up shop close to home, and we're here for it. Here you'll try your luck at real driving ranges -- and if you're totally bad at golf, like me, it's all good -- because the food and drink menu is huge.

Now that you know where to play -- round up your best buds, put on your game face and unleash that competitive spirit whilst enjoying some of the best food and drink Philly has to offer!
